Recruiting class coming together with addition of Shaffer?

This came across the Twitter-wire today, and as it looks the Cougars have signed their third recruit for next season and second JUCO player, Darius Shaffer a 6'7 215 pound forward out of Detroit.

Shaffer, who will be a junior played last season at Kilgore College in Kilgore Texas.

Shaffer averaged just under 8 ppg and 6 rpg last season, and should fit into the Cougar's mix quite nicely.

SIUE has really been hitting the JUCO's hard this year, and I think next year we will see more freshmen joining the program. Right now, not being eligible for the NCAA tournament and all, it is important to fill the gaps with these sort of players to get some experience in there to build for the future.

I haven't seen any video of Shaffer play, or our other JUCO recruit Jerome Jones, formerly of Indian Hills CC and Missouri State, although they seem like pretty solid pickups.

Also, can anyone confirm SIUE was trending on Twitter last night and why? I didn't see it myself, but it sounds glorious.
