So far, the Cougars have one NLI and a strong verbal with three scholarships pending for the 2011-2012 season.
The Cougars have signed Charles Joy (Who you can follow on Twitter @MrThisIsWhatIdo) (6'4 205lbs out of O'Fallon High School.) Joy recently broke his arm, so hopefully he can make a strong recovery for next year. Joy averaged 12 ppg for the 30-5 Panthers as their No. 2 option behind Brad Steven's Butler recruit Roosevelt Jones.
We recieved word earlier this week about Jerome Jones, a JUCO player from Indian Hills CC and former Missouri State Bear (and someone @abizzlecougar is very excited about) will be joining the Cougars. Jones is a 6'7 forward, and could absolutely ball at JUCO (13 ppg) but had little D-I success at Missouri State under Cuonzo Martin.
Sources are telling us two of the scholarships available could potentially go in-house under a worst-case scenario. Abel Tillman is apparently petitioning Dr. Brad Hewitt to give him a second chance, while Forrester could give last season's walk on and redshirt Reggie Reed a scholarship if there is an extra one available for him.
I have a sense Jared Drew, Eron Harris and Jodan Price could be coming to SIUE in 2012 (we have offers for all) pretty much based off of them all being followed by Coach Lauer on Twitter and following each other.
That's just pure speculation, with no real journalistic integrity attached, but it's interesting to note.
More to come when I get more.
