Jared Drew, a 6-5 junior, transferred from Lawrence Central to Cathedral. Lawrence Central basketball coach J.R. Shelt said Drew's family told him Wednesday evening. Cathedral started school Thursday.
Drew was a key player for Lawrence Central as a sophomore and is coming off a strong summer; he picked up scholarship offers from IPFW, Indiana State, Wisconsin-Green Bay and SIU-Edwardsville. Shelt called Drew "a really good kid."
"I do wish him well and no ill will at all," Shelt said. "I just wish somebody would have let me know this was an option before now. That's the way high school basketball is going. It seems like the grass is always greener. We're still going to be good and make a run here at LC."
The Bears finished 8-13 last season against a difficult schedule. They return juniors Jeremy Hollowell and Tyler Corley.

Hopefully the height keeps coming. Looks like we ay have 2 decent height players(Joy and Drew). I believe drew is roughly 6 foot 4. Maybe I'm wrong. We need to steer clear of the 5 foot 11 to 6 foot 2 category. We need non average height! So is Edwardsville planning on releasing the basketball schedule this year? lol...Damn. We might be the only school that hasn't done so yet.
We have most of it here! Probably one or two games missing and a few dates, but for the most part it is pieced together!
nice i missed that one!!!!! schedule better be coming soon along with changing the prelim roster for 2010 that lists cornelius chase as one of our players.........i assume that is chatt lol or maybe someone else?
